Facilities and Equipment

Housed in the University of Pittsburgh’s Oak Hill research center, PARC conducts research using state-of-the-art laboratory equipment, including:

  • DEXA scan for body composition and bone density
  • SphygmoCor XCEL for central hemodynamics (e.g., arterial stiffness)
  • Biodex for isometric muscular strength
  • Metabolic cart for cardiorespiratory fitness
  • Polysomnography for sleep
  • Fully equipped wet lab for biospecimen (e.g., blood) processing and storage
