The mission of the Physical Activity Research Center (PARC) at the University of Pittsburgh School of Education is to improve human health and quality of life by generating meaningful physical activity research data, training future leaders in physical activity research, and implementing evidence-based practice into sustainable active lifestyles for everyone.
PARC strongly promotes collaborations and conducts multidisciplinary physical activity research to study the effects of sedentary behavior, physical activity, exercise, and fitness on various health outcomes such as sleep, obesity, hypertension, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, cancer, and longevity.
PARC also conducts physical activity research in diverse populations and health conditions across the lifespan.
